@nytdavidbrooks I admire your essay "How America Got Mean" in The Atlantic, Sept. 2023, tho I've read Liebman's "Piece of Mind" which you say espoused "trust the goodness inside." That seems to unfair to Liebman, who saw parallels between faith and insights from psychotherapy.
