Thank you to all the many and varied businesses in SE21 and SE24 who are displaying in their shop windows this message to all schoolchildren. Be safe everyone! @MPSDulwichVllge@DulwichSociety
This is what entitlement looks like! 🤬
There are nesting waterbirds on this pond on Hampstead Heath... there are also big 'No Swimming' signs, all being totally ignored! 🤬
Pure selfishness... 😒🤬🤬

Oxford Street one-day traffic-free trial was a roaring success, says Sadiq Khan - after only 12 survey replies
Mayor hails impact of Sunday pedestrianisation showcase as TfL prepares to reveal details of how buses will be re-routed

Like many others who knew that LTNs simply rerouted traffic onto sacrificial roads, I was gaslighted by local politicians (like Jon Burke) and blocked by Will Norman because I told the truth. Ignored by Hackney’s Health & Wellbeing Board, the Green Party, etc, I won’t give up.
No wonder Tony Blair wants Digital IDs… when his son is the owner of the company that’ll be paid £100 billion to develop and monitor them.
And ol’ Tony has £375 million worth of shares in the company, too.
Yesterday we tweeted about Rachel Aldred's 2024 LTN health study https://t.co/vc4ngVwr4O that found the health/economic benefits of LTNs were 100 times their costs but didn't study the disbenefits! Some of you rightly felt we should've spelt out the disbenefits more. Here goes:
@TheBarmyArmy He is a legend, just because he hasn’t taken as many wickets as other test bowlers doesn’t mean he isn’t legend status, he has always had the ability to break open a match with devastating spells at the right time
Today is the International Day of Birmingham
A city that doesn’t follow, doesn’t flinch, and never forgets where it came from. Proudly sponsored by the One Thousand Trades Group, this is more than a celebration. It’s a statement of intent.
At lunchtime, we raise the Birmingham flag with pride alongside our Lord Mayor, Councillor Iqbal. That moment isn’t just ceremonial—it’s symbolic. It declares who we are: united, unapologetic, and on the rise.
Birmingham is second to none. Not second city. Not second best. We are the blueprint for regeneration, innovation, and civic pride. Built on grit, graft, and greatness, we’re leading the charge in life sciences, sport, and knowledge—on our own terms.
To be a Brummie is to walk with confidence. Head high. Heart full. Feet grounded in legacy. We build the table, we widen the path, and we never forget who we’re building it for. From market stalls to boardrooms, civic halls to creative studios, our stride is purposeful, proud, and unmistakably ours.
As a very proud Brummie, being named Brummie of the Year remains one of the proudest days of my life. Not for the accolade, but for what it meant—recognition from a city that expects you to lead, to lift others, and to leave something behind worth remembering.
Birmingham’s direction of travel is bold and irreversible:
• The Life Sciences Quarter is anchoring global health innovation.
• The Sports Quarter is uniting community, performance, and pride.
• The Knowledge Quarter is fuelling talent, research, and enterprise.
In 2027, Birmingham will host the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 —a global moment of honour, resilience, and remembrance. This is more than sport. It’s legacy. It’s a platform to profile the courage of our veterans and ensure they are supported with dignity, pride, and purpose. Birmingham will stand tall—not just as host, but as guardian of their stories.
Interns across our city are stepping forward. They are not just part of the journey—they are the journey. The next generation of Brummie builders, thinkers, and leaders is already shaping the future.
No city compares. No city competes. Birmingham is writing its own future—with clarity, courage, and conviction. The world is watching. The sectors are shifting. Birmingham is leading.
Birmingham is on the rise.

Yesterday Oxford St was blocked to many older and disabled people, to many with heavy shopping, to taxis, to buses. Is it any wonder that Selfridges reported that takings and footfall were down 25%?
Whatever your opinion is on LTNs, this should be condemned by everyone.
@TfL knew the evidence showed car use wasn’t being cut, and instead of coming clean, they buried it. That’s not policy- it’s propaganda. It’s deceit of the public on an industrial scale.
And guess what? Those who questioned @RachelAldred’s findings were mocked & vilified.
Londoners deserve honesty, not social-engineering experiments cooked up behind closed doors.
Countdown to the Birmingham Pub Bombings: 19 Sept 1974: Britain prepared for 2nd General Election of the year. Gen Sir Walter Walker said the private armies would not interfere. Eight suspected members of the Brum IRA appeared before magistrates for the 7th time @Justice4the21
This week's news that TfL and Rachel Aldred tried to bury results they didn't like came too late for our newsletter but gives weight to our front page story of the folly of the Government's decision to drop guidance to councils. Full newsletter: https://t.co/xibV5ijEsF
@Southwark_News This is the most appalling planning decision/idea. Have they looked at the waiting list recently? Already some are planned for East Dulwich. Planners gone crazy, council completely off track. And by the way, the Elephant is ruined.
Peckham anti-gentrification legal challenge fundraiser against Berkeley Homes dismal social cleansing plans!

Can you help with a bit of dosh and/or a retweet?
Love ya! 💚
@ShabanaMahmood Now that you've been made Home Secretary will you grant @Justice4the21 a S1 PI.
The 1974 B'ham Pub Bombings happened in the B'ham constituency you now represent. Will you make arrangements to discuss with the families?
