Across many parts of Africa, we see the same pattern:
Overburdened facilities.
Limited workforce.
Gaps in access.
And solutions that are often discussed, but not always built.

The question is no longer what is wrong.
The real question is: how do we build better systems?

This is why I am excited about the Harvard × Babcock Global Health Hackathon 2026, themed:
“Building High-Value Health Systems: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence.”

This initiative brings together students, clinicians, innovators, and problem-solvers to move beyond conversations into practical, scalable solutions powered by AI and interdisciplinary thinking.

More importantly, this is not just happening globally.
It is happening here. In Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Nigeria.

Through BUAMS and other student-led organizations, we are actively driving awareness, participation, and ownership of this movement.

From past Harvard hackathons, participants and ambassadors have:
• Worked on real-world health problems and built functional prototypes
• Collaborated with global mentors, researchers, and industry experts
• Gained exposure to international innovation ecosystems
• Had opportunities for continued project development, partnerships, and visibility
• Built strong networks that opened doors to research, leadership, and career opportunities

As an ambassador, you will:
