It is alleged that Yvonne Okwara divorced her ex husband Andrew Matole after 10 years of marriage because she refused to have children.

Yvonne, one of Kenya’s top TV news anchors, was married to Andrew Matole, a veterinary surgeon. The two met when she took her sick pet to his clinic. They got married in December 2014 in a private ceremony held at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Upperhill, Nairobi

Andrew Matole was 16 years older than her, something that attracted a lot of talk at the time. Yvonne later said the age difference never bothered them and that he was her best friend.

Around 2023, reports started circulating that the marriage had ended. She dropped the name “Matole” and was spotted without her wedding ring. According to the reports, the fallout was linked to her refusal to have children.
