Under the 2003 Licensing Act busking is an 'unregulated activity' and therefore no license is required. We want to keep it that way :-)

It is lawful to busk on any public highway. Who did you consult on this? These aren't 'new busking spots'. You are simply trying to control and limit lawful activity.

@what_if_cork Busking bye-laws are in the offing. A draft was presented by officials over Summer that will effectively eliminate this kind of "performance".

Unfortunately, I felt it would have put too much of a burden on others — and I've been working with officials and artists to improve it.
