The Defense Department said in a statement that 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, were killed in Jordan this weekend.

The death toll has risen to 17 Americans, with hundreds more wounded.

The New York Times reports that the Department of Defense has been withholding information from the public, hiding the true toll of American casualties; officials confirmed that three prior strikes in the preceding week left “scores of troops wounded and multiple helicopters damaged.”

The Trump administration has not briefed the public on the progress of the war since May.

We have no information about what’s going on, no idea what the plan is, no idea of when this war is going to end or even what the ultimate goal of the war is. All we have are more and more dead kids and an increasingly empty treasury with nothing to show for it.

Rest in peace, Isabella and Tyler. Thank you for your service. We’re sorry Trump squandered your lives so needlessly.
