The Bible was written on three continents:
- Europe
- Asia
- Africa

In three languages:
- Hebrew
- Aramaic
- Greek

By over 40 different men:
- Kings
- Prophets
- Fishermen
- A doctor
- And others

Yet it tells one unified story:
- Creation
- Fall
- Redemption
- Restoration

And about one Figure:
- Jesus Christ

All glory to God!

You're actually making a stronger case for the divine origin of the Torah than you may realize. But the statement "nowhere does it mention Jesus" misunderstands how the Old Testament points to Christ.

Jesus explicitly said, "If you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me" (John 5:46). After His resurrection, Jesus began "with Moses and all the Prophets" and explained what the Scriptures said concerning Himself (Luke 24:27).

The Sabbath itself points beyond the weekly cessation of labor. God established His pattern of rest at creation (Genesis 2:2-3), incorporated it into Israel's covenant life (Exodus 20:8-11), and the New Testament explicitly connects the theme of God's rest with the salvation He provides (Hebrews 4:1-11). Christ calls the weary to Himself and promises, "I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).

The same is true of the broader Mosaic system. Passover points to Christ, "our Passover lamb" (1 Corinthians 5:7). The sacrificial system anticipates Christ's once-for-all sacrifice (Hebrews 10:1-14). The bronze serpent anticipates Christ being lifted up (Numbers 21:8-9; John 3:14-15). The manna anticipates the true Bread from heaven (Exodus 16; John 6:32-35). The priesthood anticipates our great High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-16). Moses himself speaks of a coming Prophet whom God's people must hear (Deuteronomy 18:15-19), which the apostles explicitly apply to Jesus (Acts 3:20-23).

And Leviticus 25 is not a command to irrationally starve. The text specifically says that God would provide sufficient abundance in the sixth year to sustain Israel through the sabbatical period: "I will command my blessing on you in the sixth year, so that it will produce a crop sufficient for three years" (Leviticus 25:20-22). The law was deliberately structured to require Israel to trust God's provision.

So yes, there are remarkable features in the Torah that are difficult to reduce to ordinary human social engineering. But the story does not end with Moses. The Torah establishes categories of sacrifice, priesthood, covenant, Passover, atonement, holiness, deliverance, and rest that reach their fulfillment in Jesus Christ.

You don't have to find the English name "Jesus" written in Exodus or Leviticus to find Christ there. According to Jesus Himself, Moses was writing about Him.

@lowrydan11 @alvinfoo Still good advice

[Alvin Foo @alvinfoo]

Elon Musk’s first wife explains what it takes to become a billionaire:

Justine Musk, first wife of billionaire Elon Musk, knows a thing or two about wealth and hard work — her ex-husband is a founder of PayPal, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and has an estimated net worth of $248.7 billion.

She posted a response to a Quora thread asking the question “Will I become a billionaire if I am determined to be one and put in all the necessary work required?”

Her answer is “no,” though she says that the Quora reader is asking the wrong question altogether.

“You’re determined. So what? You haven’t been racing naked through shark-infested waters yet,” she writes. “Will you be just as determined when you wash up on some deserted island, disoriented and bloody and ragged and beaten and staring into the horizon with no sign of rescue?”

She then offers some advice:

“Shift your focus away from what you want (a billion dollars) and get deeply, intensely curious about what the world wants and needs. Ask yourself what you have the potential to offer that is so unique and compelling and helpful that no computer could replace you, no one could outsource you, no one could steal your product and make it better and then club you into oblivion (not literally). Then develop that potential. Choose one thing and become a master of it. Choose a second thing and become a master of that. When you become a master of two worlds (say, engineering and business), you can bring them together in a way that will a) introduce hot ideas to each other, so they can have idea sex and make idea babies that no one has seen before and b) create a competitive advantage because you can move between worlds, speak both languages, connect the tribes, mash the elements to spark fresh creative insight until you wake up with the epiphany that changes your life.

The world doesn’t throw a billion dollars at a person because the person wants it or works so hard they feel they deserve it. (The world does not care what you want or deserve.) The world gives you money in exchange for something it perceives to be of equal or greater value: something that transforms an aspect of the culture, reworks a familiar story or introduces a new one, alters the way people think about the category and make use of it in daily life. There is no roadmap, no blueprint for this; a lot of people will give you a lot of advice, and most of it will be bad, and a lot of it will be good and sound but you’ll have to figure out how it doesn’t apply to you because you’re coming from an unexpected angle. And you’ll be doing it alone, until you develop the charisma and credibility to attract the talent you need to come with you.

Have courage.

And good luck.
