this is my thesis for why fomo will change the game forever

at the beginning of memecoins, there was a certain aura around holding certain tokens

people would be proud to carry them in their ens, in their wallets, and we would send screenshots of our supply to each other and flex how long we had held

diamond handing was a proof of skill
it showed mental fortitude and conviction
and left curveness

there was energy there

then people started making a lot of money

systems got better, tools became more efficient, and eventually the whole game became about $$$

the magic was gone

why i think fomo and public trading has the potential to revolutionize the game is because there are now so many more incentives for holding

what do people want besides money?

attention
clout
reputation
respect

and trading well, holding long, having conviction, and performing at a high level can earn you all of those things

profit is no longer the entire game

it's one part of a much bigger game

your trades become your content
your portfolio becomes part of your identity
your performance becomes your reputation

who knows if this is sustainable forever because it's never really been done before
