@lorenzwalthert In my experience with both versions, I found Python scales relatively easily when the number of hidden layers and units/layer is variable (i.e., most of the time). While the tidyverse solution is probably elegant, wrapping models within functions is not
#julialang has the highest performance Mixed Effects Models, thanks to @BatesDmbates. You can now enjoy these benefits in #rstats too by calling MixedModels.jl using JuliaCall in R. https://t.co/R3fzV3oH0b
I think that using #julialang to build common math/stats/ML packages for higher level languages like #rstats#python and #MATLAB is a great usage case! This post shows how a major R contributor is using #julialang as a basis for stats package development:

Hey everyone! We have an #intro to #julialang#tutorial going #live on #youtube in 15 minutes at 10AM PDT/1PM EDT/19:00 CET/10:30PM IST! Hope to see you at https://t.co/0kPYwpzmYt
@johnmyleswhite I made a PR with #JuliaLang syntax updates to your Bandits book GihHub page. Kindly review. Awesome book and a great learning experience!
Come see what is going on in #julialang and ML at #sysml. We argue for the need for a programming language approach to ML. Based on https://t.co/UQbz369QTK
