So much fun sharing research and learning about all of the efforts surrounding green infrastructure throughout Tucson and Pima County!
Thanks to the organizers for bringing us together.
Check out our paper on soil H2 uptake in green infrastructure water managed systems in Tucson AZ. We found that H2 uptake is greater in soils that received water more frequently, but that the good ol' monsoons increase uptake across treatments...oh how I am ready for the monsoons
Check out our new paper on the impacts of water harvesting on soil health! We measure soil health indicators in soils watered with green and greywater sources and found biological soil health indicators diverge after 1 year. @DrLauraMeredith @Tfaily_Lab

My tata watered his citrus with used laundry water but I never thought about how that water source impacted the soil or its microbiome and now I have the opportunity to explore this and so much more with a wonderful team.
In my team, we study soil ecology of urban aridlands, and particularly the role of rainwater harvesting and greywater use on soil microbial diversity, chemodiversity, and health.
@BuzzardV leads this project in the lab and has mentored many students through soil health research
Postdoc opportunity @MSU_Forestry to work on modelling / data analysis project focused on tropical forest community dynamics, including responses to climate change, using a long-term dataset from Costa Rica. Please RT, thanks!

Postdoc Gabriele Schiro & undergrad Adalee Martinez spent the summer collecting dust & soil🌱for microbial biogeography🗺.

Don’t forget to set those alarms and join us tomorrow at 9 am CST/10 am EST for our virtual writing retreat! We will release the link to join in the morning. Let’s get it done! #FirstGenDocs

Check out this awesome group of scientists being highlighted though a multi-journal collaboration. This is a can't miss line-up of top scientists in our field.
First lecture is 25-Feb and then approx. monthly thereafter.
Very happy to finally announce publication of our work at Royal Society Interface. We leveraged models of vascular branching with machine learning to probe at patterns of divergence in form and convergence in metabolism.
