Some boys take a beautiful girl
And hide her away from the rest o' the world
I wanna be the one to walk in the sun
Oh girls, they wanna have fun

It is with overwhelming joy that I wish my husband Prince Buster, the pioneer of SKA music and the Original Voice of the People a very Happy Birthday!!
Your rhythm still moves the world.
He would have been 88 years old today.
Born Cecil Campbell on May 24, 1938, in the heart of Kingston, Jamaica, he rose from the rough streets of Orange Street to become one of the most influential architects of Jamaican Music. From his legendary sound system "Voice of the People, " he gave the working class their soundtrack, their swagger and their Voice.
His catalog reads like the Bible of Ska: "Madness, Al Capone, One Step Beyond, Judge Dread, Hard Man Fe Dead, Ten Commandments, Enjoy Yourself. Songs that defined a generation , shaped rocksteady and paved the road for reggae, lit the fire for the 2-tone movement- Madness, The Specials, and The Selecter all have paid homage to him.
A Husband, Father, Singer, Songwriter, Producer, Philosopher, Boxer, A revolutionary. A man who turned off beat rhythms into a global movement that gave Jamaica a sound the world would never stop dancing too.
Happy Birthday, King!
Your Rhythm still rules the dancehall and your legacy plays on forever. ๐๐ผ
My mate Bouncer died yesterday. Heโd lived with us for 13 years as a furry, purring, permanently migrating ornament.
I didnโt know I could feel such grief for a witless bag of bones who destroyed my favourite sofa and crapped in the shower tray.
Below is a picture taken on the day he selected me at the animal shelter.

Stepping out
We
Are young but getting old before our time
We'll leave the T.V. and the radio behind
Don't you wonder what we'll find
Steppin' out tonight
