This year the Home Office moved to stop expert sheep shearers from Australia and New Zealand coming to shear British sheep.

The people who keep the animals comfortable were declared surplus to requirements.

For over a decade, around 75 of the best shearers on earth have flown in each spring on a simple visa concession. In a few brutal weeks they take the wool off up to two million sheep.

A top shearer clears a ewe in two or three minutes. Hundreds a day. Calm hands, no panic in the animal. It is a global trade and a young body's game, and Britain has never grown enough of its own.

The official line? Fourteen years to train Britons, so the door is closing.

Here is what that tidy sentence ignores. A sheep must be shorn every year or she overheats, cannot move properly, and gets eaten alive by flies and maggots. Shearing on time is welfare, plain and simple, written into law and into the animal's own skin.

So a government that lectures farmers without pause about welfare has quietly made the most basic welfare task harder to carry out. After the outcry they allowed one "final" year. Then the experts are gone for good.

A sector already losing money on every fleece, already burning wool it cannot sell, now told it cannot even get the people in to take the wool off.

Przecież to wszystko bardziej przypomina strukturę mafijną, niż normalny aparat państwa. Korupcja na Ukrainie to studnia bez dna. Umoczone jest nie tylko najbliższe otoczenie Zełenskiego i członkowie rządu, ale nawet najważniejsi sędziowie.

Skazany właśnie były szef Sądu Najwyższego, Wsiewołod Kniaziew, dostał 5 lat za przyjęcie łącznie kilku milionów dolarów, skonfiskowano mu majątek, a sam zobowiązał się do składania zeznań obciążających innych uczestników korupcyjnego procederu. Niedawno ukraińskie służby antykorupcyjne poinformowały, że prowadzą czynności śledcze w sprawie przestępstw szeregu kolejnych, obecnych i byłych, sędziów Sądu Najwyższego.

To co, dalej zadłużajmy kolejne pokolenia Polaków na rzecz Ukrainy? Dalej w zamian za nic, kompletnie bezwarunkowo pompujmy tam miliardy udając, że nie widzimy gigantycznej korupcji i plucia na polskie ofiary rzezi wołyńskiej? A może od razu bierzmy ich do Unii Europejskiej? Dopóki jest to państwo na wskroś przeżarte korupcją i gloryfikujące ludobójców, to nawet nie powinno być o tym mowy.
No chyba, że unijnym pseudoelitom chodzi o to, iż ukraińskie władze będą jak ulał pasować do największej afery korupcyjnej na szczytach władz w Brukseli - tam w afery zamieszani są przecież była wiceszefowa Parlamentu Europejskiego Eva Kaili, były wiceszef PE i komisarz KE Frans Timmermans, ex-komisarz Didier Reynders, była szefowa unijnej dyplomacji Federica Mogherini, czy sama Ursula von der Leyen i jej "Pfizergate".

Od początku postuluję prowadzenie ASERTYWNEJ polityki na arenie międzynarodowej, również wobec Ukrainy, a nie robienia za bankomat, oddawanie wszystkiego za nic, a potem szok i niedowierzanie, że coraz mniej nas szanują. The Home Office bussed hundreds of asylum seekers into a former army camp at Crowborough, East Sussex — at 3 o’clock in the morning.

Not at noon.
Not with a press release. Not with a briefing to local councillors.

At 3am.

Wealden District Council — the elected local authority responsible for that area — says it was deliberately kept in the dark.

Not a courtesy call.
Not a heads-up.
Nothing.

They discovered what their own government had done to their community the same way the residents did: after the fact.

The Council’s Deputy Leader James Partridge has now formally stated that the Home Office’s secrecy “carries a high risk of public disorder and injury to people and property.”

Read that again.

Elected local politicians are warning Parliament that their own national government is creating the conditions for violence — through deliberate concealment from the people who live there.

This isn’t bureaucratic incompetence.

Incompetence doesn’t require a 3am operation.

This is a government that knew the public would object, decided they didn’t have a right to know, and moved at night to get ahead of any resistance.

They chose secrecy over safety.

And now they’re blaming the public for reacting badly to being lied to.
