Today was our annual community service day, followed by Spring Fest! Our students got to mulch around BV District Office, as well as our school. Then they enjoyed playing games, and painting each other‘s self portraits! Such an amazing day at the Academy!💙
Such a great day at Wildwood Education Center! Our students spent time building teamwork, pushing themselves, and connecting with each other in new ways. Experiences like this remind us how important it is to learn and grow together—both inside and outside the classroom.
Our Leadership class kicked off Wednesday morning the sweetest way 💙🥞
Celebrating National Blueberry Pancake Day with fluffy blueberry pancakes and cozy hot chocolate. Huge shoutout to Mrs. Robinson for helping make it such a fun (and delicious) morning!
Our ELA 12 students got to go on a field trip today to get library cards and check out books at the Johnson County (BV branch) Public Library with one of our OUTSTANDING English teachers, Ms. Stevens. 📚🪪

“I have enjoyed being a lunch lady for 14 years, and cooking is my favorite task. I feel blessed I get paid for doing what I love, but it’s the kids who win my heart. I am fortunate to be in a smaller building and can learn the names of my students who eat in the cafeteria!” — Nancy Otto, @BVA229 food services manager 🍽️
On School Lunch Hero Day, we want to celebrate our exemplary Food and Nutrition Services staff like Nancy! Thank you for your extraordinary effort in ensuring our students and staff are taken care of with healthy, tasty meals.

“I truly enjoy the atmosphere in Blue Valley. I have developed many relationships throughout my years teaching. The relationships and trust I have with my colleagues are a tremendous feeling to have. The students are amazing as well. Getting to build lasting relationships with these kids is truly what it is all about. There is nothing better than when former students/athletes come back to visit. To know I was able to have an impact on them was priceless!” — John Ruddy, @PleasantRidgeMS eighth grade teacher
What makes Blue Valley Schools an extraordinary district? Our exemplary staff members, whose hard work and dedication make a difference each day, like John and Meagan! 🌟💙🏆
“What I love about working in Blue Valley is that going to work feels like hanging out with family. I love building relationships with students, watching them grow over time and supporting them as they work to achieve their goals. I feel blessed to work with others who care deeply about kids and have their best interests in mind. We all take care of one another.” — Meagan Cooper, @BVA229 administrative assistant
