@sumtingright @robbystarbuck I won’t dispute the original founding dates of Any of them. However, to be the oldest I believe it implies continuous operation and ownership. To this day HD has original family members in key positions. And while it is now a corporation, the ownership is unbroken.

@sumtingright @robbystarbuck Actually, your wrong on both counts. Indian has gone out of Business several times and has changed ownership even more. Can hardly be considered the oldest anywhere. As for your claims of European brands and Honda, what are your sources?

@sumtingright @robbystarbuck One could say it saved the brand. As for break downs. Yes, they have had their share. When looking at percentage of units produced their record is pretty standard in the industry. I personally have not had an issue with my Harley.
