Through the years, many of our politicians were targeted by Republican assassins.
One of whom was Charles Stronge (UUP). Stronge was a decorated British Officer who served at the Battle of the Somme. He was killed in 1981 by the IRA at Tynan Abbey.

On 23rd Oct 1993 the IRA set off a no warning bomb on the Shankill Rd.
Today our thoughts are with the families who lost loved ones. Thoughts are also with the survivors and those who were first on the scene and witnessed the horrors of the aftermath.

A new mural and memorial was unveiled on the Shankill Road tonight, dedicated to fallen Volunteers from Scotland.

A new mural dedicated to Scottish Volunteers will be unveiled tomorrow evening on the Shankill Road beside the Rex Bar.
There will be a short parade and service which will take place around 5pm, everyone is welcome to attend.
