- Dicussion of the trade deadline and how our farm system may be utilized in trades.
@TheBmoreBattery It will definitely be with the orioles, i know it's hard to think about. but we're going to need a shortstop in two years. Gunnar isn't staying guys, at least the next generation looks bright
@mickey14906928@sportsrage I'm not talking about the nineties. There has been only 4 new teams since 1993. 24 of the 30 teams in the league have existed since 1968. it sounded like for the four teams that have started since 1994. I argee with you, they never should have put those there.
@mickey14906928@sportsrage Some of these teams have been around for seventy or eighty years. their market supported them at the time when they were initiated. the orioles are a great example, they had a great market until MLB fucked them over by moving the Expos from Montreal
@fan_brewer25123@TridentTrue The MLBPA is going to try to blame any potential lockout on the owners, however by immediately declaring the leagues acutally fair offer a "nonstarter". They risk changing public perception of them.
@fan_brewer25123@TridentTrue The initial offer froms both sides really said a lot about the landscape. The owners seems to be operating in good faith for a change, while the MLBPA is not. I think they are in for a harder fight than expected.
@sportsrage The offer by the league competely changed the aspect of these negotations. This might be the first time where the majority of public support falls to the owners. Every other major sports league in America has a salary cap. Its just common sense.
@sportsrage Its about competitiveness. Big market teams can operate with $300+ million dollar roster and small teams cannot. It would kill them. The cap ensures all teams have a fair shot, the floor ensures owners cant team their team to pocket revenue sharing money.

@Stanley_43_Caps@tjbrennan1983@WalterMaselli1 Baz has only had 60 starts in his career to date. Thats the equivalent 2 full seasons. The potential is definitely there. You sign your younger guys to these type of contracts so if/when they get good, you are paying them $13 million per year instead of $35 million
