10th & 11th graders had the opportunity to hear a second generation Holocaust survivor speak today. Thank you to Joyce Hess for sharing your mother's story, and @MCHEKC for providing our community with such important resources.
In the LMC, World History students watched a testimony of a Holocaust survivor, explored resources/documents related to the survivor, then had a discussion with a peer to reflect on what they heard/read/learned. Meaningful discussions are occurring as students reflect.
Look at these BRAND NEW, amazing nonfiction books! A huge thank you to @bvsw_pto for the grant we received that allowed us to purchase new nonfiction books in order to update our collection and provide high-interest titles to our students. Stop in and check one out! @bvlibraries
Our first shipment of new nonfiction books arrived, and we are working hard to process them quickly and make them available to students. We were able to purchase these due to a generous grant from our @bvsw_pto and we can't thank them enough!
ELA11 classes are doing mock Pecha Kucha presentations today in the LMC to prepare to create their own for their research topic. It's fun to see what they come up!
Are you watching The Last of Us? We've put together a display of books we think you might like if you are enjoying the show. Stop in to see our recommendations. We can't wait to see you!
