Drummy GM

Drum Major, Bass and tenor drummer, ACF volunteer. Drumming opened doors I never knew existed - now I get to see others progress further than I knew possible

[Drummy GM @BWACFDrummy]

Just business as usual for the Army Cadet Musicians…. Final rehearsals and sound checks underway but wow - we have some incredible musicians in the ACF!

Slightly different role this weekend at Rorkes Drift.

@BWACFPipeMajor leading the P&Ds through a practice before joining the combined bands

On the road again with the Pipes and drums and the @BandBWACF heading to Wales for the Rorke’s Drift. Apt music choice if you ask me…

The calm before the storm requires a brew…

A grand weekend so far with the @ArmyCadetsUK focusing on the foundations and the ACF repertoire. Might be cold but that’s not stopping the cadets

A #proud Drummy moment today… our P&Ds Christmas concert was picked up by @BBCRadioScot and I got to talk a little bit about it during Mornings with @StephenJardine. Would be great to see anybody that’s free there! https://t.co/6pvi6KEyPd

It was a busy week at camp, that’s for sure! But an excellent week was had by all and was great to see all the cadets compete on the Saturday Competitions. Very selfishly - great to see @BWACF do so well! https://t.co/EPfXRNI4n9

When the tenor corps need a ‘brain break’ (their words, not mines!) post theory test moments. Let by @BWACF cadets of course! #PositiveMindset #mentalwellbeing #positivevibes @ArmyCadetsHoW @ArmyCadetsUK

Another busy day in the land of Piping and drumming… tenor drummers out on drums during the day (some for the first time ever!) then a @BWACF band practice in prep for the competition. Sounding good! @ArmyCadetsHQ @ArmyCadetsUK @ArmyCadetsMusic @ArmyCadetsScot

A morning of rudiments and exercises… moving on to some theory this afternoon. Our fantastic level 6 tenor drummer from @SurreyACF helping with the level 3 drumming theory.

Morning muster… was a cold but stunning morning as the cadets were briefed on the plan for the day then dispersed off in to classes. Pictures of the B&T to follow! (Busy morning already!)

An early rise this morning at Barry Buddon for the first day of the National P&Ds music concentration week. Got to be the obligatory ‘calm before the storm’ picture!

Some fantastic pictures to show just what we get up to on a weekend… cadets working hard, learning a wide range of life skills and making a difference in our community https://t.co/DlZ6WiNgwO

There’s a couple moments where you realise just how important the cadets are. Having cadets play for the veterans at @ErskineCharity and seeing the impact and joy it brought to them - worth the hard work. Thanks to @AandSH_ACF cadets for joining us! @BWACF @BWACFPipeMajor

Been a while since I’ve been out in the field… but helping the @BWACF team at the @51X_Cdts Mils Skills comp.

Last night the cadets had the opportunity (thanks to @ASBMHD1) to see #REMT. Cadets loved seeing two of our instructors, @BWACFPipeMajor & @BWPipeSgt forming part of the masses P&Ds. Some cadets truly inspired to achieve more… thank you!
