@mattyglesias Isn't this more a matter of trust? When you believe someone shares your commitments you'll grant them space to maneuver in a way that you won't with people you perceive as hostile to your commitments.
@mattyglesias@GregTSargent Feels like a huge opportunity for Dems to rebrand on the issue by offering an assertive alternative rather than ignoring the clouds of teargas rolling by to talk about coffee prices.
@metaplexmovies Probably the most insightful take on this film.
With this framing the "polarized" reactions and conflicting assertions regarding its meaning work as a performance art coda proving the film's point about media's ability to deliver objectivity.
@metaplexmovies IDK how accurately they depict the judicial system but the movie's use of a murder trial without witnesses, virtually no physical evidence, and all speculation as a narrative device to put this marriage "on trial" took me out of the film.
@jessehawken It seems the advocates of "no intermission" are making 2 contradictory claims:
1) Arbitrarily interrupting for intermission unacceptably destroys artistic momentum
2) Arbitrarily missing 10 min for bathroom break is fine
New noise cameras in New York City's Upper West Side will snap a pic of cars and motorcycles exceedig 85 decibels (like being next to a lawnmower).
Fines are $220 for a first citation, and up to $2.625 for repeated offenders.

@Darren_Mooney What the creators need to understand the value they're creating for the streamer is basically ALL of the customer data to see how viewers of their show interact with the rest of the site.
And that is, I believe, where the reluctance comes to even starting down this path
@Darren_Mooney I think they're reluctant because that isn't how they value shows.
A show that gets a huge audience who bounces from the service after watching that one show is not a good show for the streamer.
