@Handre 1996–2000 – Ni in Labrador, Au–Ag in Peru & Bolivia After Placer, I split time between nickel exploration in Labrador and gold-silver systems in Peru and Bolivia. Gold was in the doldrums, silver overlooked — but we mapped, sampled, and drilled systems that would gain new life.
⛏️ Kamloops may quietly become an Interior BC AI hub through TRU, Bell AI Fabric & BC Hydro clean power.
AI need: ⚡ electricity
🔌 grids
⛏️ copper
📡 infrastructure
Interesting overlap with BC geology, mining & investing.
AI processes data. Experience still finds value.

@badcharts1@TheDailyGold Rather than trying to perfectly predict “the bottom date,” many experienced investors scale in gradually and focus on: 🔹 Balance sheets
🔹 Cash flow
🔹 reserve life
🔹 jurisdiction quality
🔹 management execution
🔹 valuation versus NAV and gold price assumptions
@TheDailyGold@ZENShredding Gold rarely bottoms when everyone feels comfortable.
2008 scared an entire generation of investors, but major bull markets often climb a wall of worry.
As a geologist who lived through 2000–2011, I learned the best returns often came when sentiment was washed out, not euphoric.
⛏️ Most mining databases tell you what a project is.
Prospector Pack aims to answer what it could become.
By connecting Projects, Companies, People & Signals, we're building a geology-first intelligence system powered by experience, data & AI.
What signals would you track? #Au
@DonDurrett@Silver__Santa White Gold ($WGO) may be one of the closer fits. ~3 Moz in Yukon, near-surface resource, Agnico Eagle backing, and it traded around C$20–30/oz in the ground after Kinross sold its stake in 2025. Still needs further economic de-risking, but worth a look. #gold#mining#juniorminer
@DonDurrett@HenkvdBergh2 Gold/silver mining is already risky enough.
My approach after 45 years in geology/mining:
core quality producers
a few asymmetric developers/explorers
💵 cash for corrections
Not 50 lottery tickets.
Survive the cycle first… then let compounding and a few winners do the work.
@RickRuleRulz Canada + Australia still dominate investable quality
Not always the biggest producers, but probably the best combination of:
geology
financing
engineering
ESG
liquidity
takeover potential
That is where many PP opportunities likely remain concentrated.
⛏️ May is Mining Month in BC 🇨🇦
Permits are finally moving again after years of delays.
Projects advancing: • Highland Valley Copper
• Eskay Creek
• Red Chris Underground
• Mount Milligan
• KSM
BC still has world-class Cu-Au geology — but today mines also need ESG, permits.
@SilverPinch Good point Laura. Jurisdiction matters first. But as my friend John in Nevada noted, TSF exposure, water management, and long-term reclamation risks still matter — even in Tier 1 jurisdictions. ESG is becoming part of valuation, not just geography.
Most drill results still read like hieroglyphics.
The real edge is not more data.
It is having a Rosetta Stone:
⛏️ geology
📊 capital markets
👥 people
🏗️ project reality
🌱 ESG & social license (ESL)
That’s what the Prospector Pack is building.
@num8ersguy@Highlandcontact Interesting PP angle: biggest movers on this list are not random — they cluster around strong people + real deposits. Biggest YTD: $FDY +109%, $LUNR +82%, $FWZ +60%, $HSLV +54%, $CGNT +48%. That’s exactly why we track people, geology, and signals together.
@DonDurrett Interesting how many of the world’s Top 30 gold mines we already covered: Detour, Canadian Malartic, Kibali, Fekola, Fruta del Norte, Côté Gold, Pueblo Viejo, Oyu Tolgoi and more.
Big ounces usually come from the same formula: strong geology, long reserve life, infrastructure.
@DonDurrett Hecla ($HL) and First Majestic ($AG) were my two winners today as well.
Nice to see silver names finally getting real momentum again while many investors still focus only on gold majors.
Today’s move: • Hecla ($HL): +11.1% today | about -3% YTD
• First Majestic ($AG): +7.9% tod
@DonDurrett Strong framework.
After 40 years in mining and markets, I’ve learned geology matters, but position sizing and discipline matter just as much.
Most fortunes are lost chasing stories — and built buying quality during corrections.
BC mining is becoming a full ecosys:
Kamloops geology + Vancouver capital + Victoria tech/AI + global critical minerals demand.
That’s where my Prospector Pack & legacy work fit: combining 40 years geology, structured data, AI tools and disciplined mining investing.
