Dr. Jimmy Spire Kiggundu @SpireJim and Mr. Joseph Kayinga MUganda. This honor stands as a testament to a life defined by resilience, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to medical excellence.
A Journey of Purpose;
As the sixth of nine children,
Dr. Kiggundu remained steadfast in his dream of becoming a healer, earning his MBChB and later specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2013. His vision for Ugandan medicine reached a turning point in 2018 when he traveled to India to master minimally invasive surgical techniques.
A Legacy of Mentorship;
Demonstrating remarkable initiative, he returned to Uganda and established a training program within just six months, fulfilling his passion for teaching and disseminating advanced surgical knowledge. His work significantly elevated surgical standards and expanded access to modern care across the nation.
Remembering the Man;
Beyond his professional accolades,
Dr. Kiggundu was a humble, generous, and deeply compassionate. He was a proactive leader and lifelong learner whose impact continues through the many lives he touched and the students he mentored.
