Radio remains an important media channel for rural communities in Uganda.
@FAO is training Dimitra Clubs in #Amolatar on building partnerships with local radio stations to advance community #action.
The clubs will feed radio stations with #content on community initiatives.
The goats were procured under the FAO–China–Uganda South-South Cooperation programme.
They'll now join breeding, research & multiplication programmes via NARO & NAGRC&DB to benefit local farmers.

.@FAO has officially handed over 9 Jianzhou Big-Eared Goats (3 males, 6 females) to Uganda's Ministry of Agriculture (@MAAIF_Uganda) at a ceremony in Entebbe to help grassroots farmers.
The goats, from China, arrived in July & completed quarantine at NAGRC&DB.
What next?
The Jianzhou Big-Eared Goats will be incorporated into breeding, research and multiplication programmes of @narouganda and @NAGRC_DB, eventually trickling down to grassroots farmers.
What is special about Jianzhou Big-Eared Goat?
The Jianzhou Big-Eared Goat is a product of crossing Nubian goats with local Jianyang goats in China.
It has the following qualities ⬇️
1⃣High meat quality
2⃣High fertility rate
3⃣Fast growth rates.
4⃣Strong disease resistance.

After a period of monitoring, @FAO has today officially handed over 9 Jianzhou Big-Eared Goats to @MAAIF_Uganda.
The goats, flown into the country in early July, were procured under the @FAO – China – Uganda Cooperation.
