@hbtCHIEFS It’s actually the opposite of the way you’re characterizing it. No prior instance of spitting has resulted in a suspension before. The league is using this as an opportunity to announce that there may be future suspensions for it if the infraction occurs at some point midgame.
The casual fans were laughing even more—particularly the people who don’t really know much about football. Think about all the comments he heard after leading up to the Superbowl. I believe he was very embarrassed and decided that’s it we are getting rid of this once and for all
