trump did steal classified information and when retrieved from Mar a Lago, the National archives found there were gaps in certain information which means he broke the law. This is why the DOJ was notified.

Reminder: if the Trumps plead the Fifth Amendment, it *can* be used against them in this NY AG case — it’s a civil case, not criminal. So the Court can read the Fifth as an admission of legal liability.
