There are people you cross paths with who you just know will always be around no matter what because they’re just always around. @ShenaeCurry was one of those people. You always run into them. You share so many close friends with them. You’re from the same city. You go to the same events. You work in adjacent fields. You big each other up on socials You see them everywhere. You talk to them in passing all the time. You laugh with them. You chat with them. But do you ever really connect with them?

One of my biggest regrets is not getting a chance to really connect with Shenae beyond the surface of familiarity and comfort in just knowing we would always be around each other. She was always here, and because of that, I thought she’d always be here. The only recourse in realizing this, and in her passing, is knowing just how many people in our community she did connect deeply with. We will never forget that and we will never forget her.

One of one, for real. An NY legend.
