This Makkah Joint Defence Agreement is, in my view, a monumental political fraud dressed up as a historic strategic breakthrough.

Strip away the ceremony, the royal palace, the grand language and the photographs, and ask the only question that matters:

Will these three countries actually go to war for each other?

Apparently, one intended message is directed at Iran, Ansar Allah in Yemen and Iraqi militias: attack Saudi Arabia and you supposedly confront Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye together.

Really?

If Iran, Ansar Allah or an Iraqi militia attacked Saudi Arabia tomorrow, does anyone seriously believe Pakistan and Türkiye would automatically enter a war?

Now reverse the equation.

If India attacks Pakistan, will Saudi Arabia attack India? Will Türkiye?

If Israel attacks Pakistan, Saudi Arabia or Türkiye, will the other two declare war on Israel?

And consider the most glaring contradiction of all.

If a NATO country attacks Pakistan or Saudi Arabia, will Türkiye, itself a NATO member, go to war against its own NATO ally because this agreement says an attack on one is an attack on all?

These are not hypothetical technicalities.

They expose the enormous gap between the language of this agreement and the geopolitical realities governing the behaviour of all three states.

A genuine collective-defence treaty requires far more than a magnificent sentence declaring that an attack against one shall be regarded as an attack against all. It requires credible military commitments, defined obligations, command arrangements, contingency planning and, above everything else, the political willingness to actually fight.

Without those, collective defence becomes political theatre.

And for Pakistan, this theatre serves another purpose.

It allows Asim Munir and the regime surrounding him to manufacture another supposed "historic achievement", wrap themselves in the prestige of Makkah, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, and sell Pakistanis the illusion that Pakistan has suddenly acquired some extraordinary new strategic shield.

It has not.

No foreign summit, no royal handshake, no defence agreement and no photograph in Makkah can erase what has happened inside Pakistan.

Nor can any of it confer domestic constitutional legitimacy on those accused of subverting Pakistan's constitutional order.

And no international agreement can place anyone above accountability under Pakistan's Constitution and laws.

Asim Munir is directly responsible for the complete destruction of even the semblance of Constitutional and Lawful orderusing the brute force of his terrorist militia, called the Pakistan Army and his collaborators and aiders and abettors

Asim Munir must ultimately face a lawful, open and transparent process of accountability for every credible allegation against him, including constitutional violations and alleged crimes against the Pakistani people.

If a competent court ultimately convicts him of offences carrying the maximum punishment under Pakistani law, then the sentence prescribed by law should follow and he and all his collaborators, aiders and abettors will be be hanged as convicted.

That is how Pakistan must finally break the cycle of military impunity:

Evidence. Trial. Due process. Accountability. Punishment

Not another coup. Not another general replacing a general. Not another doctrine of necessity.

And certainly not another grand piece of paper, pretending that geopolitical contradictions simply do not exist.

Let that sink in. Asim is gone!!!

Makkah Al-Mukarramah Summit for Joint Defence

At the gracious invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the President of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, paid a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 24 Safar 1448H, corresponding to August 7, 2026.

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister received H.E. the President of Türkiye, and H.E. the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah, where the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Summit for Joint Defence was held, during which the distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Türkiye and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were reviewed, along with a number of issues of mutual interest.

Guided by the longstanding historical ties among the three States, based on the enduring bonds of brotherhood and Islamic solidarity that unite them, and building upon their shared strategic interests and longstanding defence cooperation, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, and H.E. Mr. Muhammed Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, signed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, reflecting the three States’ shared commitment to further strengthening their collective security and to promoting peace, security, and stability in the region and beyond, in pursuit of a secure and prosperous future.

The Agreement is intended to strengthen collective deterrence against any act of aggression, and stipulates that any armed attack against any one of the three States shall be regarded as an attack against them all. It further provides for the enhancement of all aspects of defence cooperation among the three States.

@ayeshaijazkhan Pakistani foreign policy has become so overly pragmatic that people think they'll sign AA just tomorrow. In reality, Pakistan is providing PAF covers to Iranians along with weightlifting trump. Clearly AA is not in Asim's list anytime soon.

Saudi have enough manpower and even if not then a full Trialteral Defense Pact is not required to fight a proxy whose iranian masters have been pounded by the Kaafir America.
