What you actually do here:
you take stem cells from his bone marrow, sent them off to have the faulty gene edited, then gave him chemo to clear out his old, defective bone marrow. The edited cells were infused back in, took root, and started making healthy, round red blood cells instead of the sickle-shaped ones that caused his pain.
