A note on FM/Currency and inclusion:
The FM and Currency teams wanted to address the discussion on social media about the picture we posted as part of announcing our merger.
We got this wrong. The image did not simply create the wrong impression, it reflected a newsroom that is not yet diverse enough. That falls short of what South Africa should expect from an influential business publication and of the standard we have set for ourselves.
As we build the combined Financial Mail and Currency newsroom, increasing the representation and advancement of Black journalists and editors will be a priority across recruitment, commissioning, mentorship and leadership.
This has prompted a necessary conversation about who tells South Africa’s business story, whose perspectives shape coverage and who sits in the rooms where editorial decisions are made. We have heard the criticism, and we will act on it.
The FM and Currency
Watched NFL Live. Ryan Clark made it through 35 minutes went to a scheduled break after a segment with Laura and Mina about JD5, and RC never returned.
You wouldn’t know he was let go.
Mina looked rattled on her next segment.
Physical touch = Too horny
Acts of service = I’m not your mom
Receiving gifts = Feminine
Quality time = ✅ doesn’t require effort
Word of affirmation = why you need to hear that
@BULLOFBRITAIN She kept saying, we have a 5 year horizon, 5 year horizon.
Well it's been 5 years and the returns are still shit.
The problem with her fund is she invests in innovative companies, but at peak valuations like a dumbass.
