Later, another video of the same young man and the elderly person emerged, in which the young man—identified as Surya Mondal from West Bengal—clarified that the viral video was scripted and made only as a joke. He also appealed to people not to use it to spread communal tension.

Bajrang Dal chief Naresh Uniyal and members of a Hindu organization strongly protested the Friday prayers being offered at a private home.

Mohammad Idris says that people have been offering prayers at his home for the past six years, and the administration is aware of this. After Friday prayers, activists from some Hindu organizations stopped a worshipper and questioned him about his identity and Aadhaar card. The person is reportedly originally from Bihar and claimed to be working in Rishikesh and had come to offer prayers.

Following this, activists from Hindu organizations alleged that outsiders were being invited to perform the prayers. Meanwhile, Mohammad Idris maintains that he is an Indian citizen and has the right to offer prayers at his home. An argument ensued between the two parties.

Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene, brought the situation under control, and took both parties to the police station for questioning.
