Six years ago to the day, I was leaving the hospital after a gastric sleeve surgery that didn’t go as planned. I had no idea what the future held just a lot of uncertainty and a prayer.

Even though photography is my everyday, today I had to pause and really take in this moment.

Because today, I thank God for my life, for the growth, and for my very first cover shoot with Essence.

Shoutout to the city of New Orleans for always holding me down, to Kofi, the crew, and everyone who believed in me or helped me along the way. I’m beyond grateful for this one.
