I am deeply honored to receive the 2025 #MagnitskyAward, named after Sergei Magnitsky, who gave his life exposing corruption by Russian officials and oligarchs.
Proud to receive this as a Hong Konger. We will not back down. We will fight. The world is watching.
Free #HongKong.
🇨🇳 Mega-embassy latest ⚠️
If you want to visit Eastminster, ruined church under Royal Mint Court, YOU WILL HAVE TO BE SEARCHED BY CHINESE POLICE.
Fundamentally unsafe for dissidents, sanctioned MPs etc.
The CCP shouldn't be able to decide who gets to visit UK heritage.
2/ It sounds counterintuitive. I also thought Canada is more welcoming to refugee visitors like me. The truth is not.
There's a bigger problem behind it, where the rights of refugees are continuously undermined.
Anyways, hope friends in Toronto enjoy the film. See you virtually!
1/ Bad news: I cannot attend the world premiere of "WHO'S AFRAID OF NATHAN LAW" due to a prolonged VISA application. I started it as soon as I knew I needed to attend, but a Canadian visitor VISA is the most complicated process I've ever applied for as a UK refugee.
Macron's office "insisted on 'proofreading' all the president’s quotes...as a condition of granting the interview...some parts...in which the president spoke even more frankly about Taiwan and Europe’s strategic autonomy were cut out by the Elysée." https://t.co/PeezhNOg76
Marcon thinks that being welcomed by the most powerful dictator, and an enthusiastic crowd living under the regime is cool.
He represents a country with a history contradictory to this, where he's much less welcomed.
It's baffling – It's almost shameful.
#HongKonger followers: I need help -
We’re close to finalising a two year project on the behaviour of British police during the 2019 protests.
I need to hear from expat HKers who were mistreated in 2019 - especially those with direct experience of U.K. cops. DMs open.
This is deeply concerning and both the Foreign & Home Secretaries must investigate urgently.
I've previously raised protections for Hong Kongers in the UK with the @fcdo and this will be raised in Parliament urgently.
Manchester PRC consulate officials attempted to drag protesters into the consulate's area, HongKong Flag Team reported. The man in blue scarf, believed to be the Consul general, were seen vandalizing stand-up banners as Hongkongers protested in front of the consulate.
Deeply concerning video which appears to show PRC Consulate staff destroying #HK pro-democracy signs & beating up #HK protestors. We urge @SuellaBraverman@TomTugendhat@JamesCleverly@trussliz to investigate this incident & take swift action against any PRC staff involved.
Sun afternoon, PRC consulate, Manchester: people from consulate exited gate to tear down satirical Xi Jinping pic, then dragged protesters inside compound & roughed them up before police arrived & separated them. No arrests reported.
Awful, credible reports that the Chinese Consul General in Manchester, Zheng Xiyuan, has been personally involved in vandalism and possible assault.
If so @JamesCleverly should put in an official request for him to leave his post and return home.
This is absolutely outrageous
We cannot allow #CCP to behave in Britain with the brutality, inhumanity, barbarity and criminality with which they rule #China@SuellaBraverman@JamesCleverly@TomTugendhat should look into this incident at the PRC Consulate in Manchester urgently
A Hongkonger was dragged into the PRC Consulate and beaten.
If the consulate staff responsible are not held accountable, Hongkongers would live in fear of being kidnapped and persecuted.
Foreign&Home Secretaries must Investigate and protect our community and people in the UK.
#Break: 🔥 IPAC will soon hold a HUGE general summit of at least 60 legislators from all over the world in DC. Co-organised by @IRIglobal and @NDI.
Meeting to discuss how to address the challenge posed by PRC Govt. #Standtogether

Another news agency, the only investigative news agency in #HongKong, giving excellent investigative news reports is gone.
Thanks to the #NationalSecurityLaw. Too many news outlets were forced down in the past year..
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose. It has, at last, come time to end our journey.
FactWire will cease operation as of today, Friday, June 10, 2022. Thank you for your support.
