A man called me a few weeks ago just before turning 65. He was convinced he had to make all of his Medicare decisions before his birthday or risk a penalty.

A few questions later, we figured out that he was covered through his wife's current employer and didn't need to rush into Part B at all.

Sometimes the most useful Medicare advice is knowing when you don't need to make a decision yet.
