💎 Gem Bet spotted I was having an early look at outright prices and Bet365 have made a mistake. 📈 Dunfermline at 10/1 to win the Scottish Championship is massively overpriced. The 10/1 price is an expected finish of sixth place. If that were based purely on last season’s finish, it would be understandable. But under new ownership, and given the ambition of those new owners, I fancy Dunfermline to have a real shot at the title this coming season. The new owners arrived in January and were quick to show the funds they have available: they announced Neil Lennon as manager and even signed none other than Victor Wanyama on a free transfer, both until the end of the season and reportedly on big money. While it was too late to have any real impact on promotion last year, the owners have been vocal about their immediate ambition to return Dunfermline to the Premiership within two years. Lennon has now agreed to extend his contract for another two years - a clear show of intent. They’ve also already signed highly rated Inverness midfielder Charlie Gilmour on a three-year deal. While it’s still early in the window, I think we’ll see some big signings from Dunfermline this summer, which should see their odds shorten as they move closer to title-favourite status. They’ll have Ross County and St Johnstone to compete with, both recently relegated from the Premiership, but if the rumours are true about the funds available and the calibre of players they’re targeting, Dunfermline will absolutely be in the title race. At 10/1, they look massively overpriced. Watch this space: sixth favourites now, but I’d be shocked if they weren’t at least among the top three favourites by the time the first game kicks off in early August. I’m on with £20 for them to win the league outright. If you want a safer option, go each-way: it covers second place but cuts the odds by a third if they finish there. 18+, gamble responsibly
