Flashback to the second house we ever built, affectionately known as Hansel. Gretel was the white house it connected to, back in the day when we had to connect houses together if more than one was built on a single lot. Fortunately for us that zoning regulation was short lived!
Once upon a time this primary bedroom was the Kitchen of this classic Nashville ranch home. We flipped the floor plan on its end, imagined a small addition and gave new life to this Client's Grandparent's previous home. Another Covid project in the books.
Sometimes its the little things in design. This tile area rug was all this fine space needed for its vibe.

We're in the process of revamping the outdoor living area on this fab house we had the pleasure of building in 2012. The original concept was pretty poorly conceived and executed. But this time; just you wait. Stay tuned for more...

Its beginning to come together at this south Nashville Ranch redoux. Look like we installed hardwood flooring on the ceiling? Not exactly. This premium white oak has purpose, and yes, it's on the ceiling…
One of our favorite photo ops is #lookup ... in this pic we're looking at a two-story wall of windows with floating shelves in front of the Bar, adjacent to the Dining Room.

One of the earliest sections through the study model of our project on Florida's southwest coast. The essence of this particular space has developed beyond our wildest dreams, but this drawing holds a special place for me. Can't wait to see it come together and share it here.
Bringing back the sunken room. When I was a kid, only the coolest people had these in their homes. We do them now when taking advantage of the slope of a lot in a an effort to mitigate the height at the lowest area on the lot.
What a lovely spot to enjoy a beautiful early autumn afternoon. This symmetrical view is from the detached garage at the rear of the property. Thanks for the pic, Kyle!

East Greenway Park. In 2014 we were hired by a local developer to provide plans for this development. The plan was to create 4 styles and sizes of homes to sit on 60 new lots near the east Nashville Greenway. We designed 13 different styles, each mirrored for 26 unique homes.
Oh, and we thought our stairwell was mention worthy as well (from the home we recently completed in 12 South). This three story stairwell brick wall feature mirrors itself to the opposite side of the house, reappearing behind the bar in the dining room. We mentioned our axis poin
One of my favorite interior details from yesterday’s post. I realized we didn’t capture it during our photo shoot and wanted to share it.
If you know us, you know that not only are we all about symmetry but also axis and sight lines. This is a great example. We aligned the newel
And, that’s a wrap on this one. Pro pics shortly, stay tuned for that. It’s such a great moment for the homeowner. Their time has come. No more site visits to answer all the detail oriented questions, just time to move in and move on with their lives, in their new home. What a re
The interior finishes depicted here in our Client’s war room, drive a warm modern, yet classic vibe to the hospitality-esque interior architecture. We’re so excited about this project!
This is how we roll. Onsite project management is sometimes more important than actually designing the project. Anyway, it gives me ALL the feels... #waveaminute
