So I've been demoing my voice assistant, and the assistant portion resonates with users - the voice, not so much. I'm refocusing on providing value to the users that an assistant would - for one, organizing your email inbox. #buildinpublic

This is game AI, not generative AI, but Google used AlphaDev to improve on sorting algorithms by iterating on assembly code and treating it like a game. Fascinating approach.

In software development, "dogfooding" is when developers use their own product, so they can understand it from a user's point of view.

@timgrillmeier Absolutely! It's one of the first things I teach to any upcoming software developer. It's shocking how much differently you think when you put yourself in the user's shoes 👞

@Vishrut97442 It could help iterate on the idea, debug issues, and even propose new ideas or directions! Or alternatively, it could collect feedback, distill it, and prompt users for more thoughts. Hmm... 🤔

Interesting - this is a first for me.

I was running into a subdomain issue, so as usual, I asked ChatGPT-4 to help me debug.

To my surprise, it got stuck searching links, and never replied.

ChatGPT is admonishing me for not using best practices in my code 😅

But to its credit, it also taught me the 'right' (secure) way to do it! If we all have teachers like this, we can grow sooo much as a species

Asking ChatGPT to help me write a startup script, it correctly states its assumptions before writing any code. This is far better than many junior developers I've interviewed in my 10+ year career as a software engineer. #AI #chatgpt
