(1) aperture more of an issue at night; (2) post processing NR has gotten really good; and (3) I do use a Z6 II for sports at times. It requires a lot of AF attention to do well.

@podperson A mechanical shutter cost doesn't scale with volume much. A semiconductor cost always scales with volume. A mechanical shutter has warranty costs associated with it, an electronic shutter not so much. Then there are manufacturing benefits, as well.

Just to put a point on it, while Nikon introduced NX Studio today they didn't exactly mention Nikon Image Space (also note that when I shared this image out of NIS, it didn't put a #nikon hashtag on it, I had to do that manually.

@podperson No, I'm not convinced that was a mistake. Given that I don't think a Sony A7Rm3 can match a D850, I don't think Nikon would manage that first pass. So they've put the bar about where they needed to.
