@shanselman Even AI is like, "you could just change the registry keys to go back..." 🙄

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

Hey @shanselman, not sure what else to do but plead with a dev advocate to make the win11 print preview actually work with WPF apps. Majority of guidance is to roll back to the old print preview by changing registry keys. Feels like it was released and forgotten, almost no docs

🧵JUST IN : The funniest story out of Syria

What’s been happening in Syria over the past few hours? And is it true that Maher al-Assad is back in Syria and HTS has fled?

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@Prune602 a friend sent me an article that Russia has a budget surplus at the moment (Sept 2024). I saw a lot about the NWF for 2022 and 2023 keeping the budget balanced, but what's happening this year? This video says the deficit limit was raised, do they have big expenses coming up?

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@Prune602 A lot of Russian literature, classics, political, children's stories, etc. are quite bleak and prime people for great sacrifices and bleakness. There is also a "proud history" of Russia fighting hard despite the great sacrifices and loss. Really raises the threshold of revolution

@3r1nG 😂 Is his belly shaved or just naturally that bare?

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@ryancbriggs It's not completely hands off either. I guide him to good processes for figuring things out and make sure he is being safe online

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@ryancbriggs I painstakingly had to tell my son "no" several times when he wanted me to figure out Minecraft mods (it takes a lot of time) and finally one day he spent hours figuring it out with the few resources references I left him with. You just gotta make em struggle a bit like we did.

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@ryancbriggs Now he understands what he is asking of me when asking for help, and he is learning to tackle problems himself. I didn't even intend for that to be the case, but it makes sense in hindsight.

New from 404 Media: we've found exactly how a Musk-funded PAC is microtargeting Muslims & Jews with opposing messages. Happening with adverts on Snapchat; digging through data we found the exact ZIP codes the PAC is targeting. Includes areas with mosques https://t.co/Fh3IFKcpb7

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@christophcsmith Pretty sure I've already had political ones dynamically adjusting to my response

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@anaisbetts Code signing was that thing I could spend a few hours figuring out every 3 years and then forget about. We just renewed, ignorant of the new regulations and now I have a fips thumb drive trying to figure out how to not hate my life. 😭

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@MaliceDaFirenze So it's like Truck simulator but Ancient Mongol Courier simulator? Looks pretty awesome. I'd try it

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@shay3322 "Oh bother." O'Brien heard him say

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@TRIGGERHAPPYV1 This is an involuntary reaction many people have to intense situations. It can strike them as funny because they have no idea why they are smiling and can't stop, it does not necessarily mean they have lost sense of the reality and danger they are in. I have experienced this.

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@Heroiam_Slava Yes, I figured. Just important to let everyone know he wasn't killed 👍

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@RasputinKaiser @Internet__Brain @secretsqrl123 Yours is the top comment so you might consider revising it if you believe it to be wrong now

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@secretsqrl123 The tree and lighting are too detailed to be Arma 3... unless I am missing something? Arma 3 is not this graphically real looking.

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@Heroiam_Slava This meaning is contextual. It only applies when talking about people in combat. In other contexts like sports I can say "Take him out" meaning "remove him from the game" or "off the field".

[Ben Zuill-Smith 🇺🇲🇺🇦 @bzuillsmith]

@Heroiam_Slava An important translation note: "takes out" is a special phrase that typically means "kills", at least in American English. I believe you mean to say the opposite. They "spare the soldier" or "take the soldier prisoner".
