@persiannoz@feanorslegacy@hf2zb I somewhat agree. My view is that they built upon and expanded the knowledge of the civilisations they conquered making it a multi-ethnic achievement rather than purely Persian. There were loads of great Egyptian, Andalusian, Syrian and Arabian scholars from that era as well.
@feanorslegacy@persiannoz@hf2zb BTW i’m not denying that the Persian world had a rich history of science, maths, and other fields before the Abbasids. I’m just pointing out that it seems there was a increase in intellectual output across the Persianate world after their arrival, particularly in areas like maths
@feanorslegacy@persiannoz@hf2zb He did not explain why places like Cairo, Cordoba, Damascus, etc became hubs for innovation despite there being little to no Persians. Not to mention that if it was simply a continuation then you’d be able to mention countless great Persian scholars during the pre-Abbasid era
@feanorslegacy@persiannoz@hf2zb I’m not taking anyone’s side, I’m just interested in history and found this discussion interesting. I hope I haven’t come across as offensive to anyone.
@persiannoz@hf2zb@feanorslegacy If it was simply a continuation, why did most major Persian scholars emerge after the Abbasids? And why did scientific output also increase in places like Egypt, Syria, and Spain where Persians were few?
@persiannoz@hf2zb@feanorslegacy Persians were without a doubt among the most influential ethnic group of that period but why do you think that there was a unique explosion in science, maths, etc in the Persian world after the arrival of the Abbasids?
@sergio_tesla_@BrighterData I’m glad to hear that and thank you for getting back to me. Do you have a rough timeline for when they might be added back?
XO is my guy but I have to respectfully disagree with this. From my experience the exact opposite of this is true.
If you CAN quantify your edge, it’s not your edge for long, especially for retail futures and forex traders. Equities and crypto in certain instances can be a bit different.
Most of the best traders I know are discretionary traders. Literally a few nights ago the Trump China meeting was a perfect example. A singular event that can’t be tested and was arguably the easiest trade of the month.
Also if your edge is quantifiable then it likely can be automated and if it can be automated then it already has been or is in the process being automated by someone else.
Obviously I’m speaking to discretionary traders which you as retail traders likely are whether you know it or not. lol
How I will build a new system from scratch:
I have never traded stocks before but the desire to expand my playbook across different markets has now given me the itch.
For anyone who might also be in my shoes I want to share how I plan to approach developing a system.
1) Lance Breitstein has made 2 live streams going over "stocks in play", I plan to watch both and start populating a folder in Trading View with all the tickers.
2) Once I have all the tickers, I am then going to want to focus on period of time where stocks have shifted from a Ranging environment to a trending one.
3) Next my focus will be on identifying the types of patterns pre-breakout as well as the possible confluences using a variety of indicators, I am already familiar / build system around.
4) After identifying the common patterns, I will then break those down and start building execution playbooks for them.
5) I plan on gathering at least 50+ examples per setup / playbook in order to familiarize myself more with pattern recognition.
6) This will be a trend system so having a something in place for identifying when a trend is likely over will be a big part of my system. This will help me close / start to scale out of my positions.
Hence the importance of gathering as much data as possible based on previous occurrences. Although history doesn't repeat itself it often rhythms.
When fading range extremes, you want:
Volume tapering at the tails -> signals exhaustion and lack of follow through (often a result of positioning forced to close out with no follow through)
Acceptance below local HVN -> confirms rejection of the extreme and rotation back toward balance.
Acceptance holding below the HVN → shows the fade is sticking and the auction has shifted back inside value.
Retest and rejection of thin areas LVNs add further weight to the setup...
There is context and structure within a developing profile that you can refine your execution...
Takes time and practice but patterns repeat.
125 was a sell for me... which I have

Whenever I feel out of touch with the market, I always like to mark out the key swing highs / lows.
Helps me to at least focus my attention on specific levels and I can start marking out trade scenarios around them.
Bullish month = Low of month first week -> Reclaim monthly open
Bullish Quarter = Low of quarter first month -> Reclaim monthly open
Any high probability setups occur once a low is formed followed by a reclaim of the monthly open.
$BTC
Buyers getting absorbed into the 114k swing high.
We have the supply zone at 115k + Monthly open which is also the Composite VAL and a single print.
Lots of resistance at those levels and considering the speed of the move we have had so far would not want to be chasing.
Will consider the mean-reversion trade if I see a shift in LTF structure.

Closing this B/E
Reason is that with these setups after a sweep of the highs the probabilities of success if price revisits the highs is very low.
Looks like we still got juice to take out the three swing highs into mid 119k.
How to make it(The real way)
Give up the dream of becoming rich over night and adopt a 3-5 year outlook
Capital gain & income
"You can get rich from income but you need capital gains to become wealthy" - Robert Herjavec
The goal is to maximize both Capital gains via trading profits/investments & income via a jobs/business
Stable growth via income with large upticks from capital gains
Starting out
When starting at zero there's only one answer, a job. You need some capital base to start from so you find the best job you can. Save every dollar you are able
Trading
Once you have some expendable capital you can start trading small. The goal is not making it big but building out a skillset with focus process over outcome. Build skills to increase value
Trading Related Job
Now that you have actual trading experience + some social networking you land a trading related job. Quit your old job and move to anything from a proper fund position to managing a socialmedia account, take what you can get. This job is not required but a far better alternative to the normal job while you continue to build skill and stack capital
Investing
You now have capital gains & income, what do you do with the extra money? you invest
What you choose to park money in long term is up to you, make sure you have conviction to ride port vol. Personal choices are BTC, SPX & Real Estate
Managing
My novice advise is focus on minimizing taxable events
Building
In the late stages of the game I think the goal is to build things. Create a protocol, launch a fund, whatever you're interested in
Closing Thoughts
The takeaway from this is to strive for both capital gains & income instead of expecting your trading to do the heavy lifting early on. The majority of my growth came from swing trading trends so I can say with confidence you can grow quickly. However its important you don't force growth and instead allow it to come to you
In markets we don't create opportunity, we just capitalize on them
