The California State Assembly has passed the Protect Our Games Act, a bill to protect user rights after a game's service ends

Under this, games shutting down would need to provide at least 60 days notice to consumers, while also ensuring that purchasers will still have access to the game via an alt version or patch that allows it to be played offline. And if not, they must offer refunds

The bill must still be passed by the California Senate

🚨 California's State Assembly approved a Stop Killing Games bill targeting games that need a server connection to play. Before shutting those servers down, developers would have to give 60 days' notice, then either release a patch that makes the game playable offline or refund players. Only applies to games released after Jan 1, 2027. The Senate still has to approve it.

Stop Killing Games is an international consumer campaign (started in 2024 by YouTuber Ross Scott) pushing to stop publishers from making purchased games unplayable. It's pursued an EU Citizens' Initiative and backs related bills like California's AB 1921.

Wieder ein kleines Completionist Achievement:
Ich habe einen alten Dell Laptop umsonst von der Arbeit übernehmen dürfen, CachyOS + Gothic 1 mit Heroic Launcher installiert und nach 21h komplett durchgespielt :)
Als Kind hab ich das Spiel geliebt, aber nie completed. Bin happy!

@tris0x Das hab ich auch gesehen, reden alle von Kliff dies, Kliff das, aber Steamstore redet von 3 Chars. Glaube man muss das Spiel als Open World Adventure spielen und nicht auf Story Hook hoffen, dann kann's nice sein

I like the pacing of #MarathonGame right now. For me it is a good balance between simulated and arcady feel.
What makes it different for me is the immersive story you unfold by doing your runs and completing objectives, so more lore opens up to you.
