It is with great sadness we share the news that our longtime public address announcer, Bob Tayek, has passed away today. For nearly three decades, Bob was the voice of Progressive Field, welcoming generations of fans to Cleveland baseball with warmth, professionalism and a presence that became part of the ballpark experience.
Please keep Bob’s family, friends and all who worked alongside him in your thoughts during this difficult time.
With guys like Bazzana, CDL, Manzardo, Valera, Kayfus, etc. continuing to develop, they could create a really nice competitive window.
Now go extend some guys and trade for a SP!!
Bummed about losing Tugboat. He will be really good.
I am glad they cut the bait on Bo. I love the kid but he just was not producing. I kinda just assumed the org was “stuck” & would ride it out. Kuddos to them for making a move.
Hopefully this is a step toward “win now” mode.
They didn’t just go get a good defender, they literally got the best defensive catcher on the planet, who is locked up thru 2030. His bat is better than what production this team has gotten since Roberto Perez. This is an outstanding move.
