He had profound military success, but many of his actions clash with modern ethics & even contradict Jesus' core teachings in the Gospel

Firstly, calling the teachings of Jesus "irrational and unreasonable" is just wrong.
Also, defending your family is not against his teachings, it is justice and the scriptures allow it

Jesus rejects revenge and hatred to break cycles of violence, he doesn't reject protection. Also, no ruler has ever perfectly followed any ideal

Islam's approach has led to prolonged conflicts
Verses like "kill them wherever you come upon them" go beyond self defence and contradict "avoid violence when possible"

"Overcome evil with good" doesn't mean offering an home-intruder a cup of tea.. It means responding to hostility or unfair treatment with kindness and forgiveness instead of matching harm

Mirroring violence only escalates the problem, while positive actions can disarm hostility and transform the wrongdoers heart
