Thank you @Switch_AFR@ShibaNakakande for this story. The right to education begins at birth and you can argue even before. The period between 1 to 8 years is important for brain development and shaping who we become. ECCE is crucial and we need more teachers & innovators here.
When a child is protected from Malaria, they don’t just survive-they'll also thrive in the classroom and beyond. As @UwezoUganda, we say, let’s make sure every child sleeps safely under a mosquito net #Everynight.

This week, as we mark GAWE 2026, we’re reminded that access to education is still out of reach for far too many children.
Through the Kuyenda Program, we’re working directly with communities to close that gap supporting inclusive learning spaces and strengthening local voices to advocate for better investment in education.
There’s real momentum on the ground, but scaling this work takes partnership. We’re open to working with those ready to invest in long-term, community-led change.

Happening Now: @EzerUganda with our young people tackling #Stress among Adolescents and young people in schools and communities and how they can copy with it.
This evening, we are excited to host a team form @SaltTvUganda as they interview our Executive Director @MNakabug about the proposed Primary Leaving Examinations grading system. She highlights the importance of Competence Based Curriculum, focusing on learners' ability / skills beyond grades. Let’s have a measure to assess what learners are able to do at different level.
Uwezo Uganda joins the world today in celebrating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. UNESCO reports women make up just 33% of researchers globally and only 35% of STEM graduates. In Uganda, our 2025 Girls’ Education Conference Communiqué called for stronger investment in girls’ STEM participation, teacher support, and safe learning environments to close the persistent gender gaps.

To all the learners, teachers, school governance bodies, parents and supporting communities; ours today is to wish you a successful term. May all learners realise their full potential. #EducationForAll#SDG4
We can only build momentum if we work together-government,community,private sector and civil society. Each of us has a role to play:to create accessible environments, promote inclusive education, support talent and speak up against discrimination..

What we experienced during the 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵, 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗨𝗖𝗛𝗗) was the power of unity, the spark of bold ideas, and a renewed commitment to advancing equitable health in Uganda and beyond.
None of this would have been possible without you - and for that, we are truly grateful.
