This is a huge deal btw. Before 2024, the last time we saw one in Thailand was in 1995 and they were thought to be extinct, AND we saw a mom with a cub so that means they are reproducing! Unfortunately, their habitats are still being destroyed rapidly an if we don’t act to protect them now, we may truly drive them to extinction.

Their heads are flat because they spend quite a bit of time in the water and largely prey on fish! The flat head and unique skull shape makes them excellent aquatic hunters. Also unlike domestic breeds with flat faces, this cat doesn’t struggle with the same related health issues!
