Advent is a time of waiting. When God invites us to wait, God is inviting us to active waiting. God is inviting us into the vision He has given to us—to put forth an effort to bring forth that which we desire. Waiting for the Lord’s return is active and hopeful. Come, O Lord!
Jesus says: “when you give alms… when you pray… when you fast…” (Matt 6). He doesn’t say, “if you give alms… if you pray… if you fast…” During this advent season, let’s ask the Holy Spirit how we ought to increase our prayer, fasting & almsgiving as we prepare for Christmas

Update: 76 minutes waiting to speak to someone for them to pick up the phone, say they needed to transfer me to another dept., to then get a recording that says it is closed. Seriously, @Entergy. The agent should have just told me that 🤦🏼♀️
