dont really have any muddy points this time, just that the diagrams get a little confusing (would be great if it could be went through during class)
will add in some qn if i come across some

to the surrounding and ourselves (cloggage, soil erosion etc) etc, which brought me to realise that even a small calculation error can bring a big problem to us and the surroundings when designing the drainage system (/end)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_1#S2W15
this week lecture had a lot of information, which was a little difficult to process especially the diagrams and the information in it and the numbers but overall lecture was okay
was interesting to learn about the different drains - (1/)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_1#S2W15
their different functions and the requirements for them, how to drain water properly, etc, and roof drainage - how the system works for different roofs and all, the different ways to drain water without causing any problems (2/)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_1#S2W15
didnt really understand the diagrams below too. so is the pipe going through the IC and MH the MDL? whats an invert level? so if the space between the MDL and the pipe that is going down is e.g 500mm, a tumbling bay will be used? (/end)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_2#S2W14
is there a difference between a tumbling bay and backdrop e.g how they function etc, or do they work the same way just that one is used when the depth of BDL exceeds 1.5m
didnt really understand the diagrams below too (1/)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_2#S2W14
it was interesting trying to apply what was taught in the lecture with what i know and see irl too
overall though lecture was content heavy and lots of new terms, regulations and numbers were brought out, it was still quite comprehensible (/end)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_1#S2W14
this week's lecture was a little content heavy with all the different explanations on the IC, MH, MBL etc, but was still able to understand most of what was taught in the lecture with just a few small parts that is more confusing (1/)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_1#S2W14
also, didnt really understand the diagrams (and a few more. if possible, is it okay to go through a few during class?) and explanations for these (pics below)
this should be all for now (hopefully) (/end)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_2#S2W13
muddy points:
if discharge pipes cant be placed above kitchen, bedrooms etc, what about houses like bungalows, detached, etc with bathrooms on the second floor? are the pipes bathrooms placed the same way as in HDBs where they are stacked (1/)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_2#S2W13
together so the pipes connect in one line to ensure it does not discharge dirty things to where the kitchen pipes etc are? because if the bathroom is placed above, the pipes will be above those rooms below. or is there some other methods? (2/)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_2#S2W13
although there are some information overload
if possible, itll be great if some explanations and diagrams (especially the sanitary system part) could be went through during the tutorial
other than that i think most things should be fine (/end)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_1#S2W13
this week's lecture was quite easy to understand. besides a few confusing diagrams and explanations, i think overall the lecture was okay
it was cool to find out the different rules for the sanitary system & drainage (1/)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_1#S2W13
these are not really muddy points but...
how exactly do the pipes block out foul smell? is it because of how they curve which block the smell out?
is there a difference between a 'P' and 'S' trap (besides the shape ofc)? (1/)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_2#S2W12
like is there a reason why one is used/preferred/better than the other? or do they just function the same and it depends on preferences, size of toilet, etc?
also do we need to remember the details (explanation and how it works and all) (2/)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_2#S2W12
to how the appliances should be arrange to ensure privacy etc. this lecture is definitely quite interesting, and even quite enjoyable, though there are a few fancy terms used and detailed explainations at the first half of the lecture (/end)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_1#S2W12
this week's lecture was really informative and interesting even though it is only about our sanitary appliances. never knew so much considerations goes into the bathroom layouts, materials, etc - from how the doors should swing (1/)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_1#S2W12
mussy points:
didnt really understand the explanation in the lecture, what is this part for and why is it needed? does it work the same way as the waterproofing membrane in the ground floor concrete slab? or is it something else? (1/)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_2#S2W08
(that thing in the picture dont really look like a wall to me [whats that actually? :o] but if it is im a fool then)
thats it for now i guess. may add more next time (/end)
#BE904#BE904_4#BE904_4_2#S2W08
what is coping for and do different types of wall coping work differently? is coping only used for walls or can they be used for something else, shown in the lecture, and if so, where are they used at? (2/)
