Health professions (substitute any industry) are experiencing provider shortages at the same time cost of masters & doctoral level education are rising. Industries are not compensating professionals to meet societies current living standards.
Just saw an outreach AT position via LinkedIn from a PT company for the local HS. Starting pay $25/hr. Do they not know that HS are now paying $75/hr in my area? HS need to direct hire and leave the contracts behind IMHO.
Prayers for Damar! This is why every athletic organization should have an athletic trainer at all games (and practices). You never know what’s going to happen!
Jeffries is a "genuine" young man, as his coaches will tell you. A senior @UpperDarbySD who excels in school and athletics - and aspires to be an athletic trainer some day - doesn't let any obstacle hold him back. https://t.co/qBcmiZ7q5M
PSA for any #athletictrainers looking into Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Even if you were contracted as an AT and not hired through the school/institution, you should still submit that time/employee under the PSLF waiver. AT’s qualify under the public health option of PSLF.

The number of institutions looking for ATs right now is astounding. We are speaking to ADs/hiring managers who have ZERO knowledge of the current market. $50k/year and gear doesn’t cut it. Next 30 months will drive AT comp for next 10 yrs. It’s not a budget issue… 👊
Three emails today from D3 schools in need of ATs. Will your son or daughter have an AT when they report back to sports. There is not a lack of ATs willing to work, but there is a lack of employers willing to provide them with the support and financial compensation they deserve.
