This former Goldman Sachs banker, this darling of Davos, this climate fanatic who lectures working Canadians about their carbon footprint while jetting between central bank boardrooms, has now delivered the final blow to Canadian sovereignty. The trade talks have collapsed, and Carney stands exposed as the architect of national humiliation, a man who approached negotiations with the weakness of a beggar and the arrogance of an academic who has never built anything in his life.

The economic devastation is already unfolding. The auto sector, the backbone of Ontario's economy, faces existential threat as supply chains fracture. Steel and aluminum producers, already battered by previous trade disputes, now confront a market that has slammed shut. Agricultural exporters watch their American customers vanish overnight. The Canadian dollar has cratered, inflation is accelerating, and the Bank of Canada that Carney once led is powerless to stop the bleeding he caused. This is not theoretical pain; this is layoffs, foreclosures, and ruined lives in real time.

And what does Carney offer? Platitudes about "diversifying trade" while his government simultaneously attacks the energy sector that could actually provide leverage. He speaks of "green jobs" that do not exist while real jobs evaporate. He promises "resilience" while dismantling the industrial base that made Canada wealthy. He is a man who would rather see Canadians poor and virtuous in his climate ideology than prosperous and independent in reality.

His betrayal is deeper than incompetence. Carney has spent his career embedding himself in the global elite, collecting board positions at Brookfield Asset Management and Bloomberg, positioning himself for the next international posting while Canada burns. He has no loyalty to this nation, no understanding of its people, no feel for the dignity of work. He is a cosmopolitan who views borders as inconveniences and national interest as provincialism. When he speaks of Canada, he speaks of a brand to be managed, a portfolio to be optimized, a population to be instructed in proper behavior.

The Americans smell this weakness and exploit it ruthlessly. Trump does not respect Carney because Carney does not respect himself. Trump sees a man who apologizes for Canadian success, who offers to pay for American protection, who treats his own nation as a problem to be solved rather than a civilization to be defended. The tariff is not is a recognition that Canada has become a soft target, a nation led by people who will absorb punishment rather than deliver it.

Carney's response to this crisis reveals the complete hollowness of the Canadian establishment. He cannot threaten retaliation because he has spent years dismantling the military that would enforce it. He cannot offer economic leverage because he has crippled the energy sector that provides it. He cannot appeal to national unity because he has spent his career dividing Canadians by region, class, and ideology. He is a man out of options because he is a man who never believed in the nation he was elected to lead.

The truth is brutal and must be spoken. Canada is being crushed by America because Canadian leaders like Carney invited the crushing. They believed that virtue signaling would substitute for strength, that international reputation would substitute for hard power, that the world would love them for their niceness. They were wrong. The world respects only strength, and Carney has made Canada weak.

Carney should resign in disgrace. He should face the contempt of the Canadian people whose lives he has destroyed. He should be remembered not as a distinguished public servant but as the man who lost Canada, who traded sovereignty for applause, who presided over national decline with a smile and a carbon tax. He is a traitor, a failure, and a warning to any nation that allows its leadership to be captured by globalist ideologues who view patriotism as a character flaw.

I spent more than two hours sitting down with Kerry-Lynne Findlay, and when I left that room I felt something I haven’t felt in years: genuine hope. We talked about the real issues that everyone I know is sick and tired of! She looked me straight in the eye and said, “Jayme, before I decided to enter this race I was sitting there thinking to myself, do I seriously have to come out of retirement to fix this mess.”

That one line hit me like a freight train. Because that’s exactly what British Columbia has become, a mess. Crushing costs, families squeezed out of their own homes and province, streets no longer safe from the scourge of so-called safe supply, kids being fed ridiculous ideologies instead of real education, and a government that treats honest, hard-working people like cash machines and compliance officers.

What I saw in Kerry-Lynne was a well-grounded momma bear, a compassionate, no-nonsense woman who listens. Really listens. She doesn’t interrupt with talking points or virtue-signal. She leans in, she asks questions, and she genuinely wants to understand what people are going through. That’s what makes a real leader: someone who cares enough to listen first, then fights like hell for pracitial solutions that make sense.

For the political gurus who followed this leadership race from beginning to end, it still feels surreal. The ultimate underdog. The most inexperienced on paper. Attacked for her age. Called a racist. Backstabbed by her own staffers. And at the final hour, they even tried to disqualify her. Yet here she stands, elected leader of the BC Conservatives, because British Columbians are waking up and they’re hungry for authenticity.

One thing I learned about Kerry-Lynne that day is crystal clear: she is an excellent listener and she truly cares about the future of this province and restoring it to greatness.

Since coming back from my performance at the United Kingdom, people keep asking me how the UK is doing so well with their freedom movement and taking their country back? I tell them the truth: I have never seen more unity and passion in my life. The British people aren’t divided, they aren’t backbiting, they aren’t split into hostile tribes. They are completely unified and fighting for their existence, and for their basic fundamental freedoms.

British Columbia needs to reflect on that. The only way out of this mess is through honesty and integrity. Change starts from within.

It’s time to stop betraying and stealing from the people we swore to serve. Stop selling your soul for another term, another donation, another lobbyist dinner. Stop lying to ourselves that “everyone does it.”

It’s time to take "the party" out of the political party. Put down the wine and champagne. Cancel the self-congratulatory galas and victory laps. Walk away from the performative politics and the tribal celebrations. It’s time to get back to work.

There is nothing to celebrate yet.
Not while trust is dead.
Not while costs are crushing families.
Not while accountability is a joke.
Not while corruption festers at every level.

Kerry-Lynne Findlay is offering a different path, a clear, unapologetic conservative vision built on freedom first. She will cut taxes and bring down prices so paychecks actually go further. Imagine saving 30 cents on every liter of fuel by eliminating the outrageous gas tax? She will lock up criminals and stop the extortion that’s terrorizing our communities. She will defend property rights and repeal the DRIPA disaster that has created legal chaos for farmers, resource workers, and everyday owners. She will open the mines, save the sawmills, build Canadian pipelines, develop our ports, and protect coastal jobs through responsible aquaculture.

She will get woke ideology out of our schools, protect our children, keep men out of girls’ locker rooms, and put parents back in charge. No more SOGI indoctrination. No more schools overriding families. Real discipline, real academics, and real preparation for the workforce.

She will repeal ICBC’s no-fault insurance so victims get fair compensation again. She will repeal the Health Professions and Occupations Act to restore medical freedom and free speech for doctors and nurses. She will repeal the Legal Professions Act to protect the independence of the legal system and the lawyer-client relationship.

She believes in faith, family, and freedom. She wants smaller government, less red tape, and a bold Western Alliance with Alberta and Saskatchewan to fight for energy, infrastructure, and economic strength.

This isn’t empty rhetoric. This is the platform Kerry-Lynne ran on, and the platform she will deliver. The time for performative politics is over. The time for excuses is over. The time for honest, courageous leadership has arrived.

It’s been 109 days since our world came to a sudden stop.

Since then, there have been countless surgeries, endless sleepless nights, and a long road of small steps forward mixed with a few steps back. No one was prepared for that tragic day. The panic, the confusion, and the terrifying uncertainty about our little girl’s future.

Today, I want to say how incredibly proud I am of you, my Maya Bear. Your fire and strength are what keep me going every single day. You are an inspiration to so many, but you’re my hero most of all.

People often tell Cia and I how strong we seem and how well we’re holding it together. The truth is, I’m still broken, depressed, and exhausted. There are days when a simple memory of you pops up on my phone and the tears stream down my face. But when I see how strong and resilient you are, I know I have to be strong for you too.

We’re making slow but steady progress. Some days are better than others, but we’re moving forward together. We’ve been enjoying walks outside, taking in the fresh air and watching the animals scurrying around. In therapy, you’ve been working hard! standing with support, engaging your core more, holding your head up a little longer, and even sitting on the edge of the bed with minimal help. You’ve also started showing signs of swallowing liquids again (orange Gatorade is still your favorite, of course). Your hockey tournament drink of choice!

We’re seeing more engagement when we ask you to do things too. It’s a long road ahead, but we’re ready for the journey however long it takes.
