Huge thanks to @TheFSBI for funding my attendance at #fsbi2024 'omics' symposium! Honoured to present my work on proteomic insights to the impacts of intensive chemical use in aquaculture. Loved the fab eDNA workshop, exploring Basque Country and meeting great people๐ธ๐๐๏ธ
@WEEN_Wales 2023! Many thanks to the organisers, speakers and @centre_alt_tech for a great conference covering loads of cool topics๐ฆ ๐ฆ๐ ๐
๐ธ my thesis overview talk discussing how sustainable chemical use in aquaculture could improve animal welfare and productivity ๐
Assisting @NatResWales with ๐ surveying in the river Taff
River barriers like the one ๐ธ hinder migrations of many species such as the European Eel, developing effective multi-species fish passes at sites like this is important work I am excited to be involved in
@ECORISC_CDT
It's great to be working with partners in Uganda on aquatic animal disease diagnosis and Antimicrobial Resistance surveillance in the aquaculture industry as the @WOAH collaborating centre for emerging aquatic animal diseases and as part of the UK @FAO#AMR Centre @FlemingFund
Extremely grateful to the @TheFSBI for funding my trip to the 2023 Symposium; presented my work on the effects of polymer pollution on freshwater host-pathogen interactions ๐ ๐ฆ It was an amazing week packed full of incredible talks, I canโt wait for the next one!
@ECORISC_CDT
Fantastic to see everyoneโs exciting research at @cardiffuni postgraduate OnE Away day, and a chance to show and tell my bioplastics work ... one of my current practical PhD projects on the go investigating their functional impacts on fish๐ฌ๐โป๏ธ๐ @ECORISC_CDT

Presenting my project and PhD progress at the @ECORISC_CDT first in person meet @Brathay! Great meeting my cohort and hearing about their exciting projects ranging from environmental #chemistry, #ecotox to #policy, not to mention some valuable in person presentation practice ๐๐
A great start to day 2 of the @NERCscience ECORISC CDT residential workshop learning about the different PhD projects and the research plans for the coming year.
The ECORISC 'Environmental Chemistry' training course kicked off today with some great presentations from the PhD students on the emissions, fate and effects of UV filters, antibiotics, perfluorinated chemicals and microplastics.
First day on the job! โ ๏ธ๐ Great to meet my fellow PhD students in cohort 1 of the @ECORISC_CDT , canโt wait to make real change #pollution@cardiffuni
Today we had the first ever meeting of the ECORISC PhD students. Over the next 3 years and 10 months they will be working to tackle some of the big challenges around the assessment of chemical risks to the environment.
Excited to be a part of the 1st @ECORISC_CDT cohort working alongside fellow PhD students & partners @CefasGovUK ๐ & @bam_clothing ๐
With the support of my brilliant supervisory team and lab group @cardiffuni, this research aims to tackle #pollution and drive #policy change
ECORISC student Charlotte will be looking into multi-stressor interactions between ubiquitous aquatic pollutants and their effects on fish welfare and host-pathogen interactions, starting with addressing the impacts of โgreenโ alternative bioplastics on fish disease.
