LeBron: "Shit I was on the floor with my son, in a playoff game. That's one of the coolest things ever. That's just insane. My mom get to watch her son and grandson in the playoffs. That's crazy."
"This team was one of the most unique teams I've had in 52 years. Never one argument amongst the players - impossible, summer and regular season. Not one potential fight or somebody getting upset at somebody. I've never seen that in my 52 years.
They were just the greatest kids in the world. They wanted to win so badly. They were willing to do anything to try and win. I'll never have a team like this again with that type of attitude. I may have some good teams, but never, ever again with this type of attitude. Just incredible people and my heart breaks for them right now."
- Rick Pitino on this year's St. John's team
I get that Moreno had a bad game yesterday, but if you’re a grown man on the internet calling an 18 year old kid a loser, then bring up his mom as well…maybe it’s time to step away from Kentucky basketball for a bit.
These are the fans people talk about.
As winter weather caused chaos across Louisville, the police department’s official X account @LMPD leaned into humor — complete with snow jokes, self-roasts and a late-night post that went viral.
If you’re reading this right now instead of sleeping… same. Misery loves company. Let’s ride this blizzard out together. When JCPS calls off schools all of next week all parents will be at the bar. Get a Uber
Our plow trucks are out all night. Our officers are out all night. If you’re texting your ex all night, that’s between you and your therapist. Leave us alone.
This picture was taken in 2018, when Kentucky played UGA for the SEC East title. I’ll never forget it, grown men with tears in their eyes, all of us singing “My Old Kentucky Home” together. It was one of those moments you didn’t think you’d ever see in your lifetime.
That’s what Mark Stoops did for us. He raised the bar. He made us feel relevant, like we could walk onto any field, any Saturday, and believe we had a real shot. Those moments, that feeling, those 10-win seasons, he changed what it meant to be a Kentucky Football fan. He made us believe anything was possible. And in a twist of irony, those higher expectations are part of what eventually cost him his job.
It wasn’t the fairy-tale ending we hoped for, but Mark Stoops proved something bigger: that greatness is possible here. He shifted the mindset of an entire fanbase. And in the end, he handled his exit with grace, negotiating his buyout to ensure the program he had built had the chance for a fresh start instead of staying stuck in purgatory.
Someday soon, Mark Stoops deserves his flowers. Honestly, he probably deserves a statue outside the stadium. That time will come and I hope it does. As we look forward to what’s next, it’s worth taking a moment to be grateful for the good times, the memories, and the belief he gave us.
Thank you, Coach Stoops. 💙🏈 @UKCoachStoops
