Still awaiting CBDT clarification on Audit ITR due date.
Since the Audit Report is due by 31st Oct 2025, various High Courts have held that ITR should be allowed till 30th Nov 2025.
Requesting CBDT to issue an official notification to end the uncertainty.

(even no growth is considered wrt to last year)
ITR-3 → 0.96 Cr vs 1.56 Cr (60L,38.46% pending)
ITR-5 → 7.5 L vs 20L (12L, 62.5% pending)
ITR-6 → 0.95 L vs 12L (11L, 92% pending💥)
ITR-7 → 0.53 L vs 2.8L (2L, 81%pending)

85L+ audited ITRs remain pending with audits still in progress across India.

Legal Showdown: Gujarat HC Questions CBDT's Adherence to IT Act!
The Hon'ble Gujarat High Court has not only directed the CBDT to extend the Income Tax Return filing due date for audit-case taxpayers to November 30, 2025, but it has also issued a pointed notice.
The Court has asked the CBDT to explain why the ITR due date was not suo motu extended when the due date for Tax Audit Reports was extended, given the clear interlinking between Section 139(1) and 44AB. This highlights the ongoing litigation where CBDT is being challenged for not fully following the spirit of the Income Tax Act.
A major win for taxpayers and a significant ruling on the interdependency of the Tax Audit and ITR deadlines.

I just cant understand the thought behind not extending the TAR Due date.

They themselved had extended the ITR date to 15th sep, they know that it is the CA's who do the ITR work and the Audit work.

So now why not extend the date? Why are they holding back?
